Dekkori accessories: Spats meet modern fashion.
The reality of these ‘boots’ is more straightforward: These are a wonderfully modern take on a much older shoe idea: Spats. Spats (also sometimes called gaiters ), in the classic sense , are not seen much in modern times outside of stage, film, and fringe-fashion scenes. Here’s the deal. Opinions, thoughts?

Finding a balance with Irregular Choice
at Endless.com & Spat Attack $146 at Irregular Choice. I have heard that Irregular Choice shoes can be very comfortable. But, I have never felt the urge to test whether this is true based on many of the past designs made by the brand. Know when to stop and time to put down the pen, paintbrush, or fabric swatch. Edit, edit, edit.

Who makes Alice’s Shoes?
I noticed an increase in the number of button-up and lace-up granny-styled boots for sale at retailers this past fall and winter. spat granny boots appears near the beginning of the Disney/Burton Alice in Wonderland and is briefly visible as Alice runs and then falls down the rabbit hole. And I’m more than okay with that.

Alas, that is my predicament with so-called ‘Spats’-styled boots ; those boots with an add-on ankle cuff, or more commonly, an extremely extended cuff that falls all the way to the instep to ‘break’ at the top of the instep. Another Fall
I may not be always be lucky, but I am patient, especially when it comes to shoes I fall in love with. Last year I fell for these Chanel black and white spat boots cleverly photographed on Claudia in Central Park. Near Misses
One of the shoes I really really wanted this past Fall were these Chanel spat ankle boots. Tags: chanel white urban outfitters spats haute macabre booties black didn't do a lot of searching because I had already bought the two-toned mary janes and the tights. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't want them if I found them.

Seattle Steamcon 2009

Second Chances
An opportunity to get a similar look - vintage-y spat style booties, this time with black patent and the same cute buttons. Great for Fall but would be fun with short retro dresses too. I may have missed out on the Christian Louboutin Emily booties a few years back. But now there is a second chance. And high at 120mm!
