An Ethics Question
R5Friend spent about an hour and half trying on shoes, only to tell the salesclerk, “Thanks, but no thanks. R5Friend told us, as we were walking out of the store, that she was going to go to Amazon and save about $20 per pair. The other day I went shopping with R5Friend and R5Daughter. Now, this is not an anti-online post.

A Little Light Reading, with a Shoe Crush.
Anyway, while at the family’s weekly pilgrimage to our local Borders book store, my husband was lucky enough to trip across the only copy (likely our whole city) of the latest Gothic Beauty Magazine ( Issue #27 ) - strangely hidden away in the automotive section of the magazine rack. I Need a Shoe Intervention
But, I am forced to avoid the local Macy’s (Which is not only the local ‘High-end store’, but also subject to being referred to as The Bon by pretty much, well, everyone - maybe that’s a Northwest thing?) My budget - and Macy’s card, would be truly grateful. My conundrum? What is it about this boot? Really.

Steve Madden ‘Bevan’ ankle bootie
Apparently, Nordstrom re-set their entire women’s shoe department overnight and these babies were nowhere to be found in-store come Tuesday. Plus, Madden’s are a great fit on my higher arched feet; they are almost always true to size and ready to wear without my needing to run to the store for arch inserts.

Sheplers Boot Clearance
In addition to the Cowboy boots one would expect from any store that caters to the Country-and-Western crowd, there are also a surprising number of boots that would easily fit among any urban or sub-urban fashionista’s closet. Passementerie Shoes
Since then, I have seen passementerie-bedecked shoes arrive in stores at rare, irregular, and unpredictable intervals that easily defy my own, limited, ability to predict. Oh well. Whatever the reason, I was thrilled to discover during this weekend’s window-shopping that shoe and department stores are moving past caged booties, gladiator sandals, and *ick* flip-flops and into fall-friendly closed-toe Maryjanes, ankle boots, and knee-boots. Let me start out by saying that I like summer as much as anyone. Vivre.com.
